Sat 29 Mar 2014 from 9pm the Official Award Ceremony presented by Kay Rush takes place at the Palanoir Cinema in Courmayeur. Exclusive videos and interviews with the 2014 Piolets d’Or protagonists will be screened during the evening. The event also features an original musical performance by Aosta-based band L’Orage, accompanied by singer Naïf and dancer Marco Chenevier.

The Piolets d'Or is an annual world mountaineering celebration, bringing together the most remarkable climbers from five continents. 
 
The 2014 committee is presided by George Lowe and other experienced alpinists: Catherine Destivelle, Erri de Luca, Karin Steinbach, Sung-Muk Lim and Denis Urubko.
 
 
Each year, the committee selects one Walter Bonatti Lifetime Achievement Piolet D'Or award in Mountaineering. This year the recipient of the 6th Lifetime Achievement Piolets d'Or is John Roskelley, after a distinguished career that has included the famous Slipstream in 2009 and the Goats Beard, the longest waterfall in the USA, in 2013.
