Valgrisenche: a traditional ancient village

Valgrisenche, sitting at 1,664 meters above sea level, is a quiet, little Alpine village with its parish church of the 14th century and its medieval bell tower.  Valgrisenche, is an isolated village surrounded by the most beautiful landscapes, mountains covered with glaciers and forests populated by the fauna and flora of the Alps.  An ideal place for those who want to get away from it all and be in contact with nature.  
 
Drap weaving has been the typical handicraft of the inhabitants of Valgrisenche and In the old looms of this village is still manufactured the drap, a traditional thick woolen fabric used on clothes and furniture.
 
The particular micro-climate here always ensures an abundance of falling, powdery snow. The ski resort is particularly suited to beginners and families with children, and the cross-country pistes are developed and offer levels suitable to everyone's ability and training.

Heliski Valgrisenche 
Valgrisenche is the best heli alpine valley to practise heliski.  Valgrisenche is a miniature Canada in the centre of the Alps with 20 drop off points between 3,200m and 3,500m, a choice of over 100 different descents with a vertical drop of between 1,500m and 2,100m.  Excellent snow conditions, huge open spaces... a real paradise for off piste skiers and snowboarders!
