Sightseeing: Places you must see in Courmayeur & Aosta Valley

 
Courmayeur offers fantastic views of the Monte Bianco.  It is possible to cross the entire Mont Blanc massif by using the network of cable cars between Courmayeur - Aosta Valley and Chamonix:-
 
1)  From La Palud (near Courmayeur) take the cable car to Rifugio Torino
2)  Cable car from Rifugio Torino to Pointe Helbronner (3,462m / 11,358ft) - this is the Italian/French border
3)  Gondola from Pointe Helbronner to the Aiguille du Midi (open only during the summer months)
** From here, if you wish, you can take the cable car down to Chamonix which arrives near the centre and enjoy the rest of the day exploring the charming town of Chamonix
 
Some suggestions for sightseeing in Aosta Valley:-
-  Visit the national parks, nature reserves, botanical gardens
-  Explore the charming and traditional villages scattered around the valley
-  Visit the market in Aosta for a selection of clothes to cheese and meats.
-  Explore the Roman Ruins of Aosta town
-  People watch at the The Piazza Chanoux in the centre of Aosta
-  Visit some medieval castles especially the famous castle in the Aosta Valley - Fenis Caslte, a fairytale like castle
